Michelle Dee, representing the Philippines in Miss Universe 2023, has achieved remarkable success by winning not just one but four special awards at the event in El Salvador. She secured the Carnival Cruise Award, topped the No. 1 Fan Vote, and was a Gold winner in the Voice for Change Award along with contestants from Angola and Puerto Rico, earning a substantial cash prize of $12,000 (approximately P665,000).

Additionally, ABS-CBN reported that the Miss Universe Organization declared on November 24 that Michelle Dee also triumphed in the Best National Costume category, as voted through the Choicely app. Her costume, designed by Michael Barassi, featured expansive airplane wings adorned with the colors of the Philippine flag and a mural showcasing the country’s most popular tourist destinations, aligning with the national tourism slogan #LoveThePhilippines. This costume choice also reflected her role as an Air Force reservist, complemented by a captain’s hat.









Michelle Dee expressed the significance of her National Costume on Instagram, highlighting its embodiment of the Philippines’ resilience, radiance, and readiness to engage with the world. The costume’s design incorporated the traditional “solihiya” pattern, a staple in Philippine tropics, celebrating the nation’s unity and artistry.
