Gamers Express Outrage Over News That Grand Theft Auto 6 May Be Priced at $150

Grand Theft Auto 6, possibly the most eagerly awaited video game in recent history, has been a decade in the making. Fans have long clamored for a new chapter, not just updates to GTA 5. Rockstar, the game’s developer and publisher, has been diligently crafting a game that meets the immense expectations.

There’s still no official release date, but rumors have sparked a heated debate among gamers. According to Dexerto, the price for GTA 6 might be set at an astonishing $150, almost $100 more than its predecessor. This news has left many fans in disbelief, with some humorously commenting that they might need to start saving now or that the game should offer teleportation abilities at such a price.

Amidst the shock, some are skeptical about these rumors. Comparisons are being drawn to the pricing of GTA V, which was originally $59.99, with special editions ranging up to $150. This leads to speculation that the rumored $150 price tag for GTA 6 might be for a special edition rather than the standard version.

Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar, recently expressed their perspective on AAA game pricing. CEO Strauss Zelnick, in an earnings call, noted that there hasn’t been significant resistance to $70 AAA games, suggesting a focus on blockbuster titles and value. Given this stance, a sudden leap to a $150 base price seems unlikely.

The gaming community continues to debate and speculate, eagerly awaiting official details from Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive on the final pricing and release of GTA 6.
